Surgical Missions
Our volunteer surgical teams collaborate with local healthcare professionals to expand access to safe surgery, from plastic surgery to orthopedic and obstetrical procedures, with one goal: leaving every community with a stronger clinical team.

Educational Outreach
Health knowledge outlasts any single mission. HART volunteers and local volunteers run health, hygiene, and awareness sessions together in schools, clinics, and community centers, so families can manage their health proactively and make informed decisions.
We also invest directly in Ghana's next generation of providers: clinical training at regional nursing colleges, donated instructional supplies, and post-operative care guides co-developed with local clinicians for patients and caregivers.

These HART education cards travel with the team and stay behind in clinics, schools, and homes: hydration, hand washing, and early detection of Buruli ulcer.
Non-Surgical Healthcare
Medical clinics built with their communities in Adenkyra, Agyrekrom, and Beposo, plus an operating room in Kukuom built in partnership. Hospitals equipped with donated medical equipment; surgical theaters, clinic facilities, and orphanages upgraded to meet hygiene and safety standards.
Integrated clinics in underserved areas deliver healthcare beyond surgery, including primary care, maternal care, child health, vaccinations, and more, year after year.

Every surgery comes with a plan for what happens next. Patients and caregivers leave with clear post-operative guidance, co-developed with local clinicians, covering wound management, dressing changes, and safe re-use and sterilization of materials in resource-limited settings.
Families are partners in recovery. Mothers, fathers, and caregivers are taught alongside patients, because healing happens at home.
How a Mission Works
Listening First: Geriatric Care
When local partners asked for help supporting the elderly in rural communities, we started the way we always do: by asking questions. A survey designed with a regional nursing college of 200+ students gave us a clear picture of who cares for West Africa's elders, and what support they're missing.
